So my MIL has been selling Tastefully Simple for forever. I have tried several of their products, and I love pretty much everything I have tried. So I was really eager to try this cake mix since it's the simplest recipe ever. Just add butter and water. Starting off I preheated the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. This mix calls for ¾ cup (1½ sticks) melted butter. I placed the sticks in a bowl and microwaved for 10 seconds but it was not melted enough to stir. I like to do this process slowly so I don't melt it too much. I like to get it melted enough to stir it into a liquid. So I did another 10 seconds and it was still not enough. The last 10 seconds finally caused it to melt enough to stir it into the consistency I needed. The next step is to pour the mix into a bowl big enough to mix the ingredients all together. Then you need one cup of water and I always use cold water. Then pour the melted butter and water in the cake mix and make sure to blend the ingredients together. It does say do not beat, so I used a large baking spoon. It also says that the cake mix is supposed to be lumpy, so just mix until everything is well blended. The next step is to spread the batter onto a greased pan. It calls for a loaf pan but I do not have one, so I just used a 9x9 baking dish. And greased it with Canola Oil Cooking Spray. Then you want to bake if to 55-60 minutes. I used a fork down the middle to test if the fork would come out clean. I did this at 58 minutes and it was perfect. This cake was sooo moist and rich. My husband wanted to frost it but
after he tried it he knew it was good enough. And he loved it, which is a big deal because he is the pickiest person I know. All the kids loved it and it was gone that night. Super easy and Super yummy!
