Summer is here! Well technically it's tomorrow. But it's basically Summer in Indiana once the end of May rolls around. Summer is my favorite season. I love being outside, swimming, fairs, you name the summer activity and I love it. Summer is also a good season for fashion. Here are some of my favorite pieces from this summer. Hope you liked these pieces.
What are some of your favorite things to wear in the summer?

Today was another warm day here in northern Indiana. Thankfully it wasn't as hot as the previous two days which consisted of 90+ degree weather. Today it seemed to stay in the 80s, which was great! I love summer weather, but super hot heat isn't my favorite. I went to one of my girl friend's baby shower today. She looked gorgeous as always. And our dresses were similar in color. #TWINNING Outfit details:
Dress - JC Penney White Cardigan - JC Penney Flip Flops - Juicy Couture Necklace - Walmart For the third challenge on the superior drag race we had our mini challenge of making a futuristic head piece. I made a futuristic crown because I thought it would look super cool for like an alien queen. Well when we found out our main challenge was jet set, I was so thrown off. We had to use our headpiece and make our outfits look jet set. So I went with a futuristic airline hostess. We also had to create a hilarious safety spiel. I was safe this week, which is better than being low or in the bottom two. But I was really wanting to get a high score. I made the decals on my top from old CDS.
I boiled them and then cut them in to tiny pieces of different sizes. The headpiece was made from jewelry wire, tinfoil, custom pearls, and studs. It's finally Saturday. After a long and busy week, I get to spend my weekend....
Having an even busier schedule. But it's ok, I would rather be busy than be bored. Today Greg, the kids, and I have to drive about an hour away to go to his cousins graduation party. Then tonight we have a friend's bonfire. Tomorrow I have to figure out how I am going to juggle two baby showers. Yes TWO! And they aren't even close to being in the same area. Wish me luck ;) Today was graduation for KHS. My youngest brother Kyle walked with his class today. Stephanie also graduated today. She is practically a little sister to me. Watching the graduation made me feel so old. I can not believe it's been 4 years since I graduated. Outfit details:
Crop top: Kohls Skirt: Rue21 Shoes: Rue21 Purse: Rue21 with DIY glitter Today was my birthday.
I went to Hacienda with my husband and got some amazing tacos. And that was about it. Getting old is depressing, especially when you can't really celebrate it. I was just thinking about how I don't even remember the last birthday that I had where I blew out candles. Or had an actual cake. Blah... Today I had a lot of errands and running around. I went and got an application to start CNA training, so I wanted to look extra cute. I went to the jail to visit my mom today. If you could even call it a visit. I was supposed to get 15 minutes of video time because at the jail now they use webcams. Well it froze after 4 minutes and they told me I just had to end the call. Good thing I drove a half hour........... The good thing is I got to visit with my younger brother and Nan while I was in my hometown. I made my brother snap these pics of me because what else our siblings for ;) For today's ensemble I wore my favorite black dress from Rue21.
My hat is also from there, and my bangles What can I say, I love a good bargain. My sandals are from.. I have no idea, they were given to me. And same with my necklace. The BOTTOM TWO :( This week our challenge was to create an outfit inspired by a high fashion designer. I got Vivienne Westwood. She brought punk to the mainstream fashion world. Her outfits are bold and rebellious. Vivienne even said, "Milan makes cheap fabric look expensive. I make expensive fabric look cheap." My look wasn't executed enough for the judges so I was put in the bottom two. Thankfully my lip-sync saved my ass and I am in for another week.
To keep any relationship healthy, we have to put time and effort into it.
Just like a flower, it needs some TLC to grow. Sometimes we neglect some of our relationships, whether it be with friends, family, or significant others. But it seems that relationships with friends are harder to keep up. Maybe because our lives get too busy. Or maybe it's easier to see our significant, especially if we live together. Possibly are family visits more often, so we see them more than our besties. No matter the reason, we need to put in a little extra effort to keep our friendships thriving. So i've made a list of some fun best friend dates that you and your BFF can try. Especially now since it's summer time! Summer TIME! It's just around the corner. Well if you want to get technical it's June 20th. But hey, the temps here in Northern Indiana have been warm enough to feel like summer already. I mean all last week it was in the 80s. 70s is warm enough for me to want to take a dip in the pool. I am sure the lakes are even warm enough by now with all this hot and humid weather. Swimming is one of my favorite things to do in the summer time. I love being in the water. But I go to beaches less and less because of my fear of fish. I know, it is sad. But good thing there are plenty of public pools to visit.
Another thing I love about summer time is fairs and festivals. The food, the crafts, the entertainment, I just love it all. What are some things you like to do in the summer time? |
