Last Friday I was lucky enough to be invited to Ipsy's Creator Day in Los Angeles. I did not get my invite until April 30th which doesn't give a lot of time to prepare. I have a little vlog that's mostly just visuals of the time and me gabbing every once in awhile. I ended up having a really bad time after the show, like break down in a bathroom bad. But I'll talk more on that in a different post.
The entire time at Ipsy's event was amazing and I plan on doing a more in depth blog on my experience over all. But for now, here's the vlog!

So I got a cheap wig from Amazon to use for a Dany look. Deff wasn't what I was expecting but worked out ok. Check out the video for the review and for my thoughts on how season 8 of Game of Thrones is going so far. On Friday I went and saw my old friend/old manager from Fiesta. She's working at a salon in my hometown so I made an appointment for a Malibu treatment and a cut.
I went shorter than I really wanted but I had so much breakage in the front that there was no way to really keep it longer without looking like a mullet. I have hard water with no softener so the Malibu took out a lot of iron and lightened up my hair a lot. My hair looks good and feels so much healthier so overall i'm very happy. It's a perfect hairstyle for Spring.
A Feast of Ice and Fire: The Official Game of Thrones Companion Cookbook
If you are a fan of cooking and have the time to do so, I would pick up a copy of the official cookbook. You can serve breakfast on the wall (although it might not be the most satisfying) or blueberries in sweet cream.
Pick up a hard copy or kindle version HERE. Sansa's Lemon CakesWinter is coming for Westeros, but in Indiana it's packing up! As usual in Indiana, Winter is holding on even though Spring has officially started. We will get some warmer days (high 40's/50's) and then go back to the 20's within the same week. I am so ready to ditch the bulky coats and winter boots for jackets and wedges! So I decided to get myself in the mood for warmer days by making a spring fashion idea list on my amazon storefront page. I've added an assortment of pieces to make, what I think, is the perfect list of must have items for spring 2019. You can visit the entire list HERE. The first piece i'm going to showcase is the YOUCOO Women Spring Floral Printed Dress Long Sleeve Maxi Dress with Pocket. I chose the white long sleeve for my spring must have list, but if you click the link you will see they have over 10 options. Depending on what size and what style you choose does change the price, but for this specific dress in my size (2X) is $20.49 I plan on getting this for myself and will add an updated photo. Next we have Kattee Women's Vintage Genuine Leather Tote Shoulder Bag in the shade sorrel. This tote bag is the perfect addition to any fall outfit. The color will go perfectly with pretty much any outfit, but I feel it really compliments the floral patterns well. This bag does come in two sizes, either small or large and that will alter the price a bit. This bag runs on the more expensive side, $83.99 for the large, but it is a finer quality product. I also have great tote options in the list that are more affordable so make sure to check out the full list! Next we have JOYEBUY Women Big Bowknot Straw Hat Floppy Foldable Roll up UV Protection Beach Cap Sun Hat. Big hats aren't just for the beach! Big woven hats are a great accessory for a perfect spring outfit. There are different options, some without bows, and other options for color as well. This hat is available with prime and is $13.99 Some say diamonds are a girl's best friend, I say it's shoes. Wedges are one of my favorite styles for Spring and Summer, and I thought these Clarks Women's Annadel Eirwyn Wedge Sandal are right on the money. If you are someone that wants to wear heels but don't feel balanced or comfortable in them, wedges are the way to go. I haven't found a pair of wedges yet that wasn't easy to walk in or didn't feel good. I am sure there are some, maybe? For my size (9 W US) these cost $58.99 but they do have a range depending on what size you choose. I hope these essentials helped you get an idea for a perfect spring outfit. If you want to see the full list click HERE. On Friday I took the train to Chicago to visit one of my oldest and dearest girl friends. We first met in art class when I was in the tenth grade. After previously thinking one another hated each other, we soon realized we had a lot in common and hit it off instantly. Many nights were spent staying up late watching movies, trying on clothes, and talking about life. I fondly remember getting yelled at by her parent's to go to bed after being up so late. After the school year was over we spent a lot of the summer together before she went out of state for college and I had two more years of high school to go. Over the years we have not seen each other as much as we would like, so we decided to plan a girl's trip to Chicago because it's a good in-between place for us, travel wise. We met at Millennium Station and walked down Randolph st. to Macy's. We went to the restaurant on the 7th floor of the department store called The Walnut Room. It was cute and we had seats by the window which was perfect because the room had little lighting. The menu was limited and it took forever for the waiter to take our order. The first time he came by we said we needed a few minutes, and I am not normally one to complain because I understand what it's like to work in customer service. But we waited at least a half hour before he came back, and the place was not busy. I believe there were five other tables at the time and other waiters were also working. Other than that we enjoyed the restaurant. We ordered a hummus platter for an appetizer, and for my meal I got the Wisconsin Asiago crusted Chicken. It was an explosion of flavor, so so so yummy!
After we ate, we did not have much time as she had to head back home, so we browsed the store with what little time we had. I also had to catch my train and almost missed it! Luckily the station was just down the street from Macy's. Of course we had to take some photo's, I wish I had dressed more stylish. Isn't my friend so stylish?! I told her she looked so boho chic. I dressed more comfy casual because I knew it was cold and I did not have a lot of time to get ready before I headed out that morning. We browsed the handbag section and I ended up getting a cute little Michael Kors purse that was on clearance, SCORE! I have no shame in my savings game.
Over all, the day was spent well and we have decided that we need to take more time out of the year to get together. I gotta give a shout out to my girl Jessica (@Jess_Blends) I had asked for some tips on eyebrows and honestly MY BROWS LOOK BOMB 👸🏼 seriously I don’t think they have ever looked better. I used Benefit Cosmetics Arched brow stencils and 24 hour brow setter. And Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow wiz and dip brow in taupe . Life has been crazy lately. Audrey and Sophia started ballet so they have that two days a week. Since Axton has been in school he's had stuff after school. And August is mobile now. Trying to keep up with them, cleaning the house, and doing my looks and post has been a challenge. Thanks for sticking it out with me as I figure out this thing called life. Also check out my latest vlog. It's mostly a haul but some shopping an driving clips too :) Have you ever heard of the term Twinless Twins? I hadn't, until it happened to me. I guess I could have known before the possibilities of losing a twin. But I had never thought about it before. But now it's something I will think about every day. How my 7 month old child August, is a twinless twin. If you have been following me for awhile you know we lost one of my twin boys, Alec, to twin to twin transfusion syndrome at 20 weeks. In this video I start off talking about makeup, but the blog shifts to something that I have been feeling, dealing with lately. If child loss is triggering for you then you should probably not watch. Ok, it's more of 25 days of Halloween since that is all I got for my makeup tutorials. But this was the most challenging thing I have ever done. I posted a video almost every day for an entire month. That is dedication, let me tell you! Instead of posting all the videos separately I am just posting the playlist. Hope you enjoy :)
31 Days of Halloween First I just want to say, I don't think this should be called the accent tag. Because it's not really about accent, as much as it is what you call things where you are from. But I still had fun, as you can see by my thumbnail. Pretty good right? Hope you enjoy! Ah, 2013. Back when I only used powder products.
Bronzer was totally ok to use all over the face. Brows? Brushes? You mean fingers! Lips, eh forget those too! It does get better with practice! I promise that, LOL. Hope you enjoyed this funny little side by side. |
